Maximizing Advanced Find in DefenseReady Webinar

This webinar provides an in-depth look at how to use the Advanced Find features in DefenseReady to locate, organize, and report on data more effectively. Using customer use cases and practical examples, Jessica demonstrates how to build useful filters, apply AND/OR groupings, and work with related tables.

The session covers how to filter data, edit and add columns—including columns from related tables—and save and share views with individual users or teams. It also demonstrates how to export data to spreadsheets and create reports using the Report Wizard. The webinar concludes with a brief review of the data import process.

• Overview of Advanced Find in Defense Ready: Jessica provided an introduction to the Advanced Find feature in Defense Ready, clarifying its applicability to IaaS environments, outlining its core capabilities, and explaining the session's focus areas to all attendees including Allison and Karie.
  • Applicability to IaaS and SaaS: Jessica clarified that the Advanced Find training is relevant for organizations using Defense Ready in an IaaS 9.1 environment, as SaaS environments have a different, built-in search mechanism. Attendees were advised to use 'Classic Advanced Find' terminology when searching for resources.
  • Core Capabilities: Jessica explained that Advanced Find allows users to search, filter, and report on data across tables, create custom views, and export results, but does not support features like charts, dashboards, or web resources within the tool.
  • Session Focus Areas: The session was structured to cover basics of Advanced Find, live scenarios, AND/OR logic, use of related tables, saving and sharing views, and exporting/reporting, with a Q&A segment supported by Allison and Karie.

• Using Advanced Find for Security Investigations: Jessica demonstrated how to use Advanced Find to locate expiring security investigations, referencing scenarios for Major Matthews and highlighting the importance of selecting the correct tables and fields.

• Advanced Find for Training and Workforce Data: Jessica demonstrated how to use Advanced Find to track annual training due dates and projected departures, including pulling data from related tables such as workforce files.
  • Training Due Date Searches: Jessica walked through searching for personnel due for specific trainings, such as anti-terrorism, within a set timeframe, emphasizing the need to identify the correct fields and ensure data completeness.
